TÜBİTAK BİLGEM carries out the design, assembly and production activities of the DG (DeGauss) system for Offshore Patrol Ships, MİLGEM corvettes, MİLGEM corvettes of Ukraine and Pakistan, and ships exported to Turkmenistan within the scope of its work on magnetic mine countermeasure systems to ensure the security of Turkish Naval Forces ships.
Factory Acceptance Tests Completed for TCG KOÇHİSAR
TÜBİTAK BİLGEM tarafından ASFAT’ın ana yükleniciliğinde yürütülen Açık Deniz Karakol Projesi’nin ikinci gemisi olan TCG KOÇHİSAR’a kurulan DG sisteminin fabrika kabul testleri başarıyla tamamlandı.
These studies also reveal the strong and domestic capabilities of the Turkish Naval Forces on magnetic mine countermeasure systems and make significant contributions to the security of Turkey's naval capabilities and the security of its combat elements.
What is DeGauss (DG) System?
DG system is a precautionary system that protects ships against magnetic mines by neutralizing the magnetic field. By reducing the magnetic field, this system reduces the magnetic projection of the ship, reducing the probability of detection and detonation of magnetic mines.
TÜBİTAK BİLGEM also develops measurement and analysis infrastructures and systems for the magnetic signature management of naval elements, and offers them to TAF and export shipyards. With these studies, by analyzing the magnetic signatures of naval elements, the risk of being detected by hostile elements is reduced and the security of ships is ensured.
The System is also Used in International Areas
Within the scope of its work on magnetic mine countermeasure systems to ensure the security of Turkish Naval Forces ships, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM is also carrying out the design, assembly and production activities of the DeGauss system for Offshore Patrol Ships, MİLGEM Corvettes, ships exported to Turkmenistan, Pakistan MİLGEM and Ukraine MİLGEM Corvettes.
These capabilities make significant contributions to Turkish Naval Forces in international arena.
