The Electronic Warfare Symposium, organized for the first time in Ankara on December 6-7, 2023, by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), brought together participants from the SSB, the General Staff, Naval, Air, and Land Forces Commanderships, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, and defense industry companies operating in the field of Electronic Warfare (EW). The focus of the symposium was on innovative applications in the future EW environment and defense technologies.
Dr. Tayfun Aytaç, Deputy Director of the Infrared EW Technologies at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Advanced Technologies Research Institute (İLTAREN), presented on "Cognitive EW Approaches in Infrared/Electro-Optical Systems."
Ufuk Ülüğ, Department Responsible of HISAR at the Information Technologies Institute (BTE), discussed "Artificial Intelligence-Supported High-Resolution Communication Intelligence."
Dr. İsa Servan Uzun, Coordination Responsible for RF EW Technologies at İLTAREN, presented on "Electronic Warfare Self-Protection POD Solutions."
Dr. Cumhur Doruk Bozağaç, Deputy Director of Software and Simulation Technologies at İLTAREN, delivered a presentation titled "Modeling and Simulation Infrastructures in the Evaluation of Effectiveness and Performance of Electronic Warfare Systems."
The symposium highlighted the groundbreaking effects of the integration of artificial intelligence and electronic warfare systems on future defense technologies. Researchers from TÜBİTAK BİLGEM presented innovative approaches, emphasizing the need to explore new horizons in the EW field by deeply examining areas of development in the sector.
On the second day of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK, participated as a speaker in the "Lessons Learned by the Sector in Light of Operations Special Session." Following the session, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz presented a plaque to Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal for the completion of the EHPOD/EDPO projects' R&D processes within the year 2023.
