The Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mustafa VARANK, announced that the "mission computer," one of the most critical components of the Turkish Fighter (TF) and referred to as the "brain," is produced by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM İLTAREN. Minister VARANK introduced this significant component at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, emphasizing the strength of domestic production. The TF is planned to replace F-16 fighter jets in the 2030s.
Developed within the scope of the National Combat Aircraft Project, the fifth-generation multi-role combat aircraft TF offers a high-performance system capable of engaging in both air-to-air and air-to-ground battles. With the TF, Turkey will join the limited number of countries possessing the infrastructure and technology to produce a 5th generation fighter aircraft.
The IPP Platform of the National Combat Aircraft Project is also being developed at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM. The IPP Platform encompasses an integrated modular avionics platform consisting of Mission Computers, Data Collection Units, and InterRack Switches. This indigenous and national platform, developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, is designed to meet the secure and high-performance processing and communication needs of Mission, Flight, and Aircraft Management Systems.
With the National Fighter Aircraft Project, Turkey is both strengthening its independence in the defense industry and taking important steps towards having a say in the international arena in the field of technology.
