The MÜREN SYS Program was established in line with the cooperation protocol signed in 2015 between the Naval Forces Command and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, Informatics and Information Security Advanced Technologies Research Center (TÜBİTAK BİLGEM). The first project of the program is the MÜREN SYS AY Class Application Project. In accordance with the system engineering processes, a system has been developed that brings the modern heavy torpedo (DM2A4) firing capability to two AY Class submarines [TCG DOĞANAY (S-351) and TCG DOLUNAY (S-352)] owned by the Naval Forces Command. With the system to be developed within the scope of the project, the following facilities and capabilities have been provided to AY Class submarines:
• The ability to throw the DM2A4 torpedo available in the inventory,
• Unique Target Movement Analysis (TMA) including MİLPAS, ED and Offensive and Navigation Periscopes data and Track Management,
•Use of a special Weapon Control Unit and TMA Unit to be developed for the DM2A4 torpedo, primarily adapted to PREVEZE and GÜR class Half-Life Modernizations and National Submarines.

With the system developed within the scope of the project, the ability to launch the DM2A4 torpedo available in the inventory to AY Class submarines; Unique Target Motion Analysis (TMA) capability, including MİLPAS, ED and Attack and Course Periscopes data, and Track Management; A Weapon Control Unit and a TMA Unit specially developed for the DM2A4 torpedo have been integrated into National Submarines with PREVEZE and GÜR class Half-Life Modernizations.
