The main objective of the FLEXIndustries Project is to design and implement the most appropriate energy efficiency measures and process flexibility methods for industrial environments, focusing on 7 different energy-intensive industries such as automotive, biofuels, polymers, steel, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals and cement. It also aims to create a multi-disciplinary and multi-scale framework, taking a holistic approach that has a positive impact on electricity and heating networks and their connections.
FLEXIndustries aims to develop a Dynamic Energy and Process Management Platform to monitor, analyze and optimize energy-intensive industrial processes. This platform will have the capabilities to manage demand response mechanisms, provide facility and process flexibility, and provide grid services.
FLEX Industries, which includes stakeholders such as TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, Ford Otosan, Sakarya Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ, Mutlu Akü and Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AŞ, aims to prepare EU industries for the energy flexibility transition. The project, along with the overall project concept and the launch of the digital platform, aims to overcome technical and non-technical barriers.
