The aim of the MEDAS-3 Project, within the scope of the experience gained during the establishment and operation of MEDAS, is to meet the new needs emerging with technological developments and to nationalize the foreign-sourced ready-made commercial products in MEDAS, which are currently used in the TAF, taking into account NATO and international standards. It is the development and nationalization of the system by including the national capabilities gained through the National Military Messaging System (MAMSIS) Project. The output of the project, which started in 2018 and was completed in 2019, will be messaging and directory software developed nationally in accordance with international standards and considering national needs. Within the scope of the project, integration with existing external systems (in the tactical and strategic field) will be ensured. 2 years warranty service will be provided after the end of the project. The products to be developed/expanded within the scope of the project are: X.400 Message Transfer Server (MAS) Software, Address List Management Unit (ALYB) Software, Remittance Management Unit (HYB) Software, Intersystem Gateway Unit (SAGB) Software, Client Software, Management Agent Software.
The main objectives and achievements of the Project are as follows: Expanding and incorporating the national capabilities gained with the MAMSIS Project in line with user feedback, making changes in the architectural structure by deduplicating the messaging and directory systems management interfaces in order to facilitate the operation and management of the system, the latest in operating system and security software. To create a structure that can work in integration with systems that are used/will be used at strategic, operative and tactical levels throughout the TAF and that can support the messaging infrastructure.
