TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Signed a Cooperation Protocol with HAVELSAN

TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and HAVELSAN signed a cooperation protocol which establishes the ground for mutual collaborations for the economic and strategical improvement of Turkey. The protocol aims to form a common ground to share their know-how, experience, expertise and infrastructure for the ongoing projects.

The protocol, signed at BİLGEM on 4 May of 2016, paved the way for both BİLGEM and HAVELSAN to collaborate with regarding the following scope: Tactical Operation Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Digital Storage Archive and Analysis System, Air Traffic Control and Cyber Security Data Leakage. In a similar vein, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and HAVELSAN also intend to make collaboration in the fields of intellectual property management, technology transfer, commercialization, production, publicity and marketing with various business models.

The event, hosted by BİLGEM, brought together many names both from BİLGEM and HAVELSAN. The names from BİLGEM included: Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, (President), Orhan Muratoğlu (Business Development Vice President), Suat Genç, PhD (Technology Transfer and Commercialization Vice President), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Üstüner (UEKAE Director), Mehmet Sezgin, PhD (BTE Director), Mustafa Dayıoğlu (SGE Director) and Lami Kaya, PhD (Presidential Consultant). HAVELSAN participated in the event with the following names: Ahmet Hamdi Atalay (General Manager), Savaş Yanık, (Operations Vice General Director), Göker Canıtezer (R&D and Technology Director), Mazhar Kani Hacıpaşaoğlu (Cyber Security Director), İsmail Erdoğan and Murat Pekgüleç.

Inauguration speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar. Attaching an utmost importance to the protocol signed, Mantar said that “We are putting a signature on highly crucial projects. I hope this protocol will be the start of upcoming projects”.

Ahmet Hamdi Atalay also gave another inauguration speech. Emphasizing the crucial role the protocol plays, he expressed that “With this protocol, resources of the country will be used more efficiently, thereby preventing the abundant use of resources. Thus, we will be able to attain the products and solutions in a more efficient and effective manner. Likewise, our collaboration in industry will be enhanced by marketing activities at abroad. HAVELSAN aspires to commercialize any technology, system or device that is developed by TÜBİTAK, which stands as the most essential and powerful center of Turkey in scientific and technological research”.

The program proceeded with a technical field visit. During the visit, related project groups and laboratories were visited, and participants had an exchange of ideas within the scope of the protocol. The event ended with the expressions of mutual good intentions.
