Dr.Mehmet HAKLIDIR
Director of Artificial Intelligence Institute
Dr. Mehmet HAKLIDIR has been serving as the Director of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Artificial Intelligence Institute (YZE). He graduated from Istanbul University with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor degree in Computer Science. He received his MSc in Mechatronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and his PhD in Control and Automation Engineering from the same institution.
With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. HAKLIDIR has assumed managerial and technical expertise roles in national and international large-scale projects. He played an important role in the establishment of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Artificial Intelligence Institute and contributed to the development of Turkey's National Artificial Intelligence Strategy.
Dr. Mehmet HAKLIDIR is a member of the OECD One AI Expert Group, a member of the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) and a member of the Advisory Board for Artificial Intelligence Technologies of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Policies Council. He also holds the position of Secretary-General at the International Society for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare.
Dr. HAKLIDIR continues his research in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data and robotics. Throughout his career, he has made presentations at various national and international congresses and scientific conferences and published articles in SCI indexed international scientific journals. He has also received national and international awards from different organizations throughout his career.
